Professor Spo Kgalamono is the Executive Director of the National Institute for Occupational Health (NIOH), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service. The NIOH provides specialised occupational health services, conducts cutting-edge research and offers capacity-building initiatives to support the prevention of work-related diseases across all economic sectors.
In addition to her leadership at the NIOH, she is an occupational medicine specialist and holds the position of Professor and Chair of Occupational Health in the School of Public Health at the University of the Witwatersrand. Her work is widely recognised through numerous scientific publications and her active participation in several local and international technical committees.
Her professional interests lie in capacity development and mental health in the workplace, where she continues to make significant contributions to improving occupational health standards and practices in South Africa and beyond.
